About Shorinji Kempo
Commentary
■Shorinji Kempo was founded in October 1947 (Showa 22) in Tadotsu, Kagawa Prefecture by its first master, So Doshin, who witnessed the desolate society of post-war Japan and the people who had no dreams or pride, and wanted to "create a peaceful society that was rich in both material and spiritual prosperity." It is a sect practice that was established as a system of "teachings," "techniques," and "educational system" with the aim of creating people who would be useful to society.
■Currently, it is one of the nine organizations affiliated with the Japan Martial Arts Council.
■It has also been adopted by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare's Narcotics Control Division (commonly known as the Narcotics Control Division) as part of its arrest techniques, and is known as an excellent self-defense technique.

Shorinji Kempo is a practice for developing people
While nourishing your body and mind, you can help others,
"Teachings" that teach how to live happily "Techniques" that allow you to realize your own growth and enjoy improvement with your partner
These teachings and techniques are integrated into an "educational system" that fosters human potential in a synergistic manner, without being separated from each other.
Humans are born with the potential to grow in any way.
Shorinji Kempo is for people who believe in the possibilities and continue to improve themselves.
We aim to develop individuals who can cooperate with those around them and take action to build a society that is rich in both material and spiritual aspects.
